Drum Static - Drakes Drum - Russell Piner

Product Information

This static was first played at the 2005 Edinburgh Tattoo, during the performance by the Massed Bands of Her Majesty's Royal Marines. Originally written with 5 seconds parts it can be easily adapted to suit more, as was the case at the Edinburgh Tattoo - there were 18 seconds drummers! It also has a bass drum part.
The static starts with an impact, utilising the ripple effect which also appears slightly later. It consists of four phrases, using time changes and 'cool' rhythms. Overall it is not too tricky to learn, play and ultimately master.
