Drum Static - St Nazaire - Phillip Hawkins

The aim when writing this static was to create a syncopated feel by using snare and bass drum, creating variations of stickwork, whilst keeping with the more traditional look.
St Nazaire was featured by the Massed Corps of Drums of The Royal Marines at the Mountbatten Festival of Music in 2006. Although no bass drum was used at this event the sound, feel and look of the static proved to be a great hit with performers and audience alike.
The static is written for solo, 2nds and 3rds, along with bass drum but could be used with a smaller corps of drums.
